MOUNT PROSPECT, Illinois — A train collision in Mount Prospect today left several people injured and caused significant disruptions to Metra rail service, authorities confirmed.
The incident occurred on the Union Pacific/Northwest Line near Central Road and Main Street when a commuter train struck a vehicle that was on the tracks just before midday. Emergency responders, including Mount Prospect Fire Department, police, and paramedics, were dispatched to the scene shortly after the collision was reported.
